You start dating, and if you’re really in love, you get engaged. Most times, you have your photos made and then you get married … and you more than likely have more photos made on that big day. What about after that? Chances are, since you got married, you’re in love. Most couples seem to think that engagements and weddings are the only times that it’s important to have their photos made. What about when you’ve been married for almost 4 years and you’re still in love. What about when you’ve grown together, lived together, moved together? What about before you have your own kids and want to remember the time when it was just you and your spouse? What about just having your photos made to celebrate your love? That’s exactly how I got the chance for Rob & Amy’s super-fun session in Oregon last week. We headed out to Cannon Beach, which is an adorable little beach town that’s nestled in the coast of Oregon. Haystack rock is a landmark on the beach, and in fact, was in ‘The Goonies’ … Heyyy-you-guyyyys! – Sorry, couldn’t resist. Basically, it was beautiful. I loved photographing two of my best friends together … and watching them in their love. Moral of the story? Now is a great time for photos. Whether you’re engaged, dating, married … it’s a wonderful time to celebrate your love.

Okay, these next photos are my favorite photos of the session … and quite possibly my favorite photos I’ve taken. I love you two!!

Notice the 3 sets of prints? The little ones belong to Rob & Amy’s dog, Dax. He’s so incredibly smart, loving and adorable.
After walking around the beach and enjoying the water and sand, we decided to head up into the town and walk around the little neighborhood and cute houses.

Dax … Daxie … Dax Dog … I could keep going all day with his nicknames:
I love asking for ‘serious’ … Normally, the serious face ends up being really fun, and genuine.
Rob & Amy know how to have fun … and make fishy faces.

Okay, so I LOVE this next one …
Another outfit change … and we kept on truckin’ around Cannon Beach.

We stopped to get some yummy ice cream … PS, note to photographers, never get ice cream while shooting on or around the beach. It makes it hard to hold the camera without getting sand in or around your lenses. :0)

We let the sun get to that dreamy place in the sky … ya know? When it’s just so wonderful for photos?? We headed back to the beach to get some shots in front of Haystack Rock.

Love this one!

Can’t wait to see you guys again! Thank you so much for inviting us to spend the week with you! Thank you for helping us confirm that Portland is indeed the city for us. Next year is going to be such a big year, and we’re so excited. We love you both!!!

Fall Mini Sessions
By Ravyn Stadick**This post has been pinned to the top of my blog. Please be sure to scroll past this for my most recent work**
Can you believe that summer is more than 1/2 way over? It’s crazy how fast time flies when you’re having fun. In this case, I’m pretty glad that the hot weather will be subsiding soon, giving way to that amazing Indiana Fall weather I love so much.
To celebrate my favorite season, I’ve decided to host another mini session event. The mini sessions last Spring were so much fun. I was able to meet new clients and catch up with others that I hadn’t seen since the previous Fall. The sessions are the perfect chance to have your photos made for your Holiday greeting cards. Since all photos will be edited within two weeks of your session, there will be plenty of time to have your cards made.
What is a mini session? A mini session is just like a regular shoot with Ravyn Stadick Photography … just mini. Since time is limited, we will be working quickly to catch the moment. This means the photos will be full of life and genuine. These sessions are great for families, couples, children and anyone else who loves to get outside and have fun … oh yeah, and I’ll make sure you look pretty!
Send me an email: photos@ravynstadick.com or contact me using the form on my website to get more information about the mini sessions.
Here’s the scoop!
The mini sessions will be taking place at an outside park in Indianapolis. When you contact me, please let me know which day works best for you, and I’ll send you two time slots to choose from. Slots will be available at 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Payment is required in order to book your session. I accept checks as well as credit cards (through PayPal). It’s simple! I’ll send you the portrait agreement, and we’ll go from there!
I can’t wait to make your photos!
In the event of rain, the mini sessions will take place on October 23rd & 24th.
